In such cases, we recommend disabling the DHCP function of the recorder. Prior to this, the installer may not have disabled the DHCP function. After connecting to a new router, the network subnet may change and the automatic IP address of the recorder may also change, but the IP address of the camera will not change, which causes these problems. OHWOAI's home wireless solar battery type and POE power supply security camera recorder set has IP67 waterproof and dustproof specifications, with a strong waterproof level, and no harmful effects even in bad weather such as rain and wind. It can also be installed outdoors. 1TB HDD built-in & overwrite, recording continues 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. OHWOAI's home wireless solar battery type and POE power supply security camera recorder set can add 8 cameras with monitors. 5 million high-definition camera, improved heat dissipation and durability, and four times longer service life.
It is not easy to change the subnet settings of the network, especially in some corporate network environments. To solve this problem, we recommend that you change the IP addresses of all cameras to the same subnet as the new router. This will ensure that the monitoring works normally, the cloud services (e.g. EseeCloud) can be online normally, and it will not affect viewing the monitoring on your mobile phone. I often support others from remote locations, and unlike traditional brick-and-mortar services, for this kind of small problem, it can usually be solved in just a few tens of minutes with just one computer. We recommend that you plan the IP addresses of the cameras and then disable the DHCP function of the recorder.
Another case is when you need to connect surveillance devices through multiple routers. Recently one of my friends asked me to install a surveillance system for him and it involved multiple routers. There were 3 cameras connected to a local switch and another 50 meters away there was another router with another camera connected to it. Initially these two routers had different subnets but later we adjusted the subnet of the remote router and the issue was resolved. So if you need to connect surveillance devices through routers with different subnets, just make sure all your devices are using the same subnet and the issue will be resolved.
In this case, the IP address of the main router was 192.168.0.1, and the IP address of the remote router was 192.168.2.1. The IP address of the recorder was 192.168.0.x. I connected the WLAN port of the remote router to the LAN port, set the DHCP of the LAN port to 192.168.0.2, and also set the gateway to the appropriate value. This allowed the surveillance device to successfully connect to the recorder, and the problem was solved.
